FAQs About Pelvic floor core & More™

What is Pelvic Floor Core and More?

Pelvic Floor Core and More is a 1 time, 3-hour clinic for women of all ages and stages. This class is for all generations. From the never have been pregnant person, to the grandmas and great-grandmas. We strive to educate and bring awareness to the pelvic floor and core dysfunction and functional movement. Our goal is to teach you how to be strong in functional movement in your everyday life. Whether it’s cleaning the house, driving to work, or taking an intense HIT workout class. We want you to understand the right movements to take for your body. If you are familiar with our other classes, it is very similar to postpartum recovery but geared towards all ages. Bring a friend, your mom, an aunt, or your grandma!

Why Should You Take Pelvic Floor Core and More?

If you are a mom who has had a baby or taken of Postpartum Recovery Class, this is a great refresher on the techniques taught there. We touch on pregnancy-induced issues but the truth is pelvic floor dysfunction can affect all women. For the person who has never been pregnant, as you age, pelvic floor dysfunction becomes more common. We will give you the information, education, and resources in the community you need to help strengthen your pelvic floor. Pelvic Floor Core and More focuses on a variety of topics including different types of prolapse, symptoms of a rectocele, urgency incontinence, sneezing and peeing, how to strengthen the pelvic floor, hypertonic pelvic floor training, and more.

What Types of Movements/Exercises Will We Do?

Pelvic Floor Core and More does offer exercise but is not a kick butt fitness class. We focus more on strengthening your pelvis (inside and outside) for pelvic stability. Studies have found that 61% of women will report some sort of pelvic floor dysfunction even when they have never had a baby. We will also show you how to protect your shoulders in lifting and pushing and you will learn strategies to stabilize your body during movement. You will leave the 3-hour clinic with a workout that can be done at home with just a band or no weight. We will teach you the proper mechanics for squatting, lunging, and more. There is now the option to use a chair so if you cant get up and down off the mat, you can still take the class.

What Do I Need to Bring?

We recommend bringing a mat, writing utensil, and water. If you are taking the class at home online you should also have a small playground ball and band on hand. At the beginning of the class, you will take an assessment and we will go through the assessment at the end of class. You do not have to have any level of fitness to attend PFCM. It is open to all levels of fitness and is not a kick but fitness. You can move at your own pace!
